The Opportunity
A fast-growing specialist healthcare and life sciences consulting firm is seeking an Associate to join its London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing consultant with a strong analytical background and a genuine interest in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and medtech.
The firm works with leading private equity investors, portfolio companies, healthcare corporates and public-sector organisations on high-impact strategic and commercial assignments.
The Associate will have the opportunity to work across commercial due diligence, strategy, market assessment, M&A and growth projects, gaining significant exposure to senior clients and complex healthcare and life sciences markets.
This is an entrepreneurial environment where Associates are given meaningful responsibility early in their careers and are expected to make a direct contribution to project outcomes.
The Role
You will work as an integral member of client project teams, conducting rigorous research and analysis and translating complex information into clear, commercially relevant insights.
You will work closely with Engagement Managers and senior consultants while also taking responsibility for individual workstreams and supporting the development of more junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of commercial due diligence and strategic consulting engagements across healthcare and life sciences.

Conduct detailed research into companies, markets, competitors, customers, products and industry dynamics.

Carry out primary and secondary research, including expert interviews, surveys, market research and desk-based analysis.

Analyse complex datasets and develop robust insights to support investment and strategic decisions.

Build market models, forecasts and analytical frameworks to assess market attractiveness, growth opportunities and commercial potential.

Develop hypotheses and test them through structured research and quantitative analysis.

Assess market size, competitive dynamics, customer behaviour, growth drivers and emerging opportunities.

Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.

Prepare high-quality, compelling client-ready presentations and deliverables.

Take ownership of defined workstreams, sections of projects or complete analytical outputs.

Work closely with Engagement Managers and senior team members to ensure rigorous, high-quality project delivery.

Support and provide guidance to junior team members, contributing to their development and performance.

Contribute to the development of new approaches, analytical methodologies and market insights within the practice.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong analytical capability, consulting experience and genuine interest in healthcare and life sciences.
You will ideally have:

At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, commercial due diligence or a related analytical environment.

Experience from a top-tier consulting firm, leading strategy boutique or strategy practice within a Big Four firm would be advantageous.

An advanced degree in a STEM-related subject; a PhD, MS or MD would be particularly advantageous.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets.

Experience building forecasting models, market models and analytical frameworks.

Strong research capabilities, including experience conducting secondary market research.

Experience with primary research, expert interviews or customer research would be advantageous.

The ability to turn complex analysis into clear, concise and commercially relevant conclusions.

Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills, with a strong eye for presentation and detail.

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of analytical tasks and workstreams.

The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior colleagues and project teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
