The Opportunity
A growing specialist healthcare and life sciences management consulting firm is seeking an experienced Engagement Manager to join its London-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded consultant with strong experience in commercial due diligence and strategy, ideally within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences or MedTech.
The firm works with leading private equity investors, portfolio companies, healthcare businesses and public-sector organisations on high-impact assignments across strategy, buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence, M&A, growth and digital transformation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading client engagements, managing project teams, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the business.
About the Role
As an Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of client engagements across multiple workstreams. You will work closely with senior Partners and clients while taking ownership of project delivery, team management and elements of business development.
The role offers significant exposure to senior decisionmakers and the opportunity to develop both your commercial consulting and leadership capabilities within a specialist life sciences environment.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Project Delivery
- Lead the execution of client engagements across all workstreams, including managing client interactions, driving and coordinating required analysis, and preparing and delivering client-ready reports and presentations.
- Take ownership of key project workstreams and ensure high-quality delivery against agreed timelines and objectives.
- Structure complex business problems, develop hypotheses and guide analysis towards clear, actionable conclusions.
- Conduct and oversee market research, data analysis, financial modelling and commercial assessments.
- Translate complex findings into compelling, commercially relevant recommendations.
- Create clear and actionable visualisations to support client and team decision-making.
- Engage confidently with senior client stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Present findings, conclusions and recommendations directly to clients.
Business Development
- Draft client engagement proposals and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.
- Support Partners with existing client and advisor relationships.
- Begin developing new client relationships independently and in conjunction with Partners.
- Drive business development activities and initiatives across relevant sectors and accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new areas of work.

Contribute to pitches, proposals and other business development activities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and coach junior team members during both project execution and business development activities.
- Provide mentoring, training and constructive feedback to support the development of junior colleagues.
- Coordinate project teams and ensure effective collaboration across workstreams.
- Help create a supportive, high-performing and collaborative team environment.

Contribute to recruitment initiatives and the continued growth of the consulting team.
Practice Development & Knowledge
- Help further drive the growth of the business through recruitment and knowledge development.
- Contribute to the development of sector expertise, intellectual capital and consulting methodologies.
- Share knowledge and best practice across the wider team.

Support the development of new capabilities and approaches within healthcare and life sciences consulting.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring strong management consulting experience, excellent analytical capabilities and a genuine passion for the healthcare and life sciences industries.
You will ideally have:
- Around 6 years of professional experience, including experience within a leading management consulting firm.
- A proven track record in both buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence.
- Strong experience delivering strategy projects, preferably within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences or MedTech.
- Strong problem-solving and structured-thinking skills.
- A high degree of comfort working with data, quantitative analysis and financial models.
- The ability to create clear, actionable visualisations to support client and team decision-making.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with senior clients and leading client presentations.
- Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
- Experience managing, mentoring or coaching junior team members.
- A natural team-player mentality, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues regardless of seniority.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach, with an interest in contributing to business development and practice growth.
